Product Description

AOMEI FoneBackup is a desktop application (primarily for Windows) that allows users to manage the data on their Apple mobile devices by connecting them to a PC. Its functions fall into three main categories: Backup & Restore, Transfer, and Utilities.

1. Core Function: Backup and Restore

This is the primary purpose of the software: securely saving mobile data to a computer to protect against loss, without relying solely on Apple’s cloud or proprietary software.

• Full iPhone Backup: Creates a one-click full image backup of all local iPhone content to the computer, including system settings, application data, photos, music, and more.

• Selective/Custom Backup: Allows the user to preview and choose specific items (e.g., only certain photos, contacts, or messages) to back up. This is useful for saving space or just archiving specific files.

• Easy Restore: Restores the backup image either entirely or selectively.This process can be much simpler and faster than a full iCloud or iTunes restore.

• Flexible Storage: Backups are saved locally to your PC or any connected external storage (like an external hard drive, SSD, or network drive), giving you greater control over where your data resides.

2. Core Function: Data Transfer

FoneBackup allows fast, direct movement of data between devices and the PC.

• Phone Transfer: Easily import or export files (photos, music, videos, documents, etc.) between the computer and the iOS device, acting as a quick, two-way transfer manager.

• iPhone Migration: Facilitates the movement of all data or selected data from an old iPhone to a new one, streamlining the process of upgrading your device.

• WhatsApp Manager: A specialized feature to quickly back up WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business data to the PC and, in premium editions, transfer the chat history between two iOS devices (e.g., to a new iPhone).

• iCloud Manager: Provides tools to upload, download, sync, and manage files (Photos, Contacts, Notes) stored in your iCloud Drive directly from the desktop application.

3. Additional Utilities and Tools

The software often includes helpful tools for managing the health and content of the iOS device.

• Photo Deduplication: Scans your photos and identifies duplicate images, helping you clean up your photo library and free up storage space.

• HEIC Converter: Converts Apple’s High-Efficiency Image File Format (HEIC) photos into more universally compatible formats like JPG/JPEG/PNG, allowing them to be viewed and edited on any device.

• Data Eraser: A feature to permanently and securely wipe all data and settings from an iPhone/iPad/iPod before selling, trading, or giving it away, preventing potential information leakage.
